Mainstream paints are largely made from petrochemical-derived polymers that have been manufactured from refined crude oil. We don’t do “mainstream” but we are an Auro stockist. Auro is a carbon-neutral company that has been producing quality ecological paints & wood stains for over 30 years. The company uses only natural raw materials (and no petrochemicals), consequently waste product & excess paint can actually be composted.
We also sell Reborn paints, low carbon emulsion blended from previously unused paints. This directly reduces the amount of unwanted paint that would otherwise end up in landfill (and potentially damage the environment) . Available in 28 shades.
Whitson’s Super Adhesion Primer is a bridging primer designed to stick hard to factory finishes e.g. pre-cat, varnish, kitchen cabinetry that don’t normally take paint. It contains Curran, a material developed in Fife and derived from root vegetable waste that may replace carbon-fibre in the future.
CLEANING & HOME
Many cleaning products contain harsh chemicals, synthetic fragrances & petrochemicals. Chlorine based disinfectants can react to form persistent environmental contaminants & they’re bad for our health & that of our pets.
The cleaning products we stock are free of phosphates, chlorine bleaches & other nasties & not tested on animals. As well as Bio-D, Ecoleaf, Method & Ecover we also sell Humblestuff products that are manufactured right here in Glasgow – natural, biodegradable & vegan friendly (and they smell divine).
You can also find great Marine friendly & natural skincare at The Green Place (all of which come in recyclable packaging, many in glass bottles or jars which can be recycled indefinitely).
Our range includes Caurnie Nettle soaps & shampoos (sought out by Eczema & Psoriasis sufferers), Little Blue Hen Castile Soaps & Lucky Cloud skincare.
